Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect on jimifalls.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We kept it short and in plain language on purpose.

Who we are

We are Jimi Falls, a rock band based in Chicago, Illinois, along with our corporate events division, "The 90's." This site is ours, and we are responsible for the information described here.

Information you give us

This site does not have a booking form. Every booking and contact link on the site opens your own email program addressed to [email protected], so the only information we receive from you is whatever you choose to put in that email. In practice that usually includes:

• Your name and the email address you send from
• A phone number, if you include one
• Your company or organization, if you mention it
• Event details such as the date, the venue or location, the type of event, expected guest count, and set length
• Budget or any other notes you decide to share

You control what goes in that email. If you do not want us to have a detail, leave it out.

Information collected automatically

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use this site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, roughly where in the world you are, the type of device and browser you use, and the site or search that sent you here. We look at this in aggregate. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not try to.

You can read how Google handles this data in the Google Privacy Policy, and you can turn Google Analytics off across every site you visit with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Our hosting provider also keeps standard request logs, which include your IP address, the time of the request, and the page requested. These logs exist for security and reliability, not marketing.

Embedded media

The home page embeds a YouTube video player for our official video. When that player loads, YouTube may set its own cookies and collect its own usage data, under Google's privacy policy linked above. We also link out to Spotify, Apple Music, and our social profiles. Once you click through, you are on their site and their privacy policy applies, not ours.

How we use it

• To answer your booking inquiry and work out the details of a show
• To send you the follow up messages, quotes, or agreements that inquiry leads to
• To keep the site working, fix problems, and see which pages are worth improving

We do not add you to a mailing list because you emailed us about a booking.

Sharing

We do not sell your information, rent it, or trade it. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the band, such as our email provider, our hosting provider, and our analytics provider, and only to the extent they need it to do that job. We may also share information if the law requires it, or if we need to protect our rights or someone's safety.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are the Google Analytics cookies described above, plus any cookies set by the embedded YouTube player. There are no advertising cookies. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings, and the site still works if you do.

Retention

We keep booking emails as long as we need them for the event and our own records, and analytics data for the retention period set in Google Analytics. When we no longer need something, we delete it.

Your choices

Email [email protected] and we will help you:

• See what information we hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete your information, unless we are required to keep it
• Stop hearing from us entirely

We answer these requests ourselves, and we will get back to you within a reasonable time.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here and change the effective date at the top of the page. Meaningful changes are worth a re-read.
